US 3538 and sometimes US 3539 are one hour, graded courses offered each half semester to help students identify, reflect on and practice study skills. Topics include time management, note-taking, active study skills, test-taking methods, organization, reading skills, etc. (US 3539 also emphasizes general computer skills, and is typically only available in the second half of the fall semester). The grade is based on participation, attendance, and a number of small assignments or quizzes, frequently chances to reflect on your own progress or to try out a study strategy in another class.
Many students find this class a good chance to really focus on skills for success, to set goals for change, and to be reassured by hearing from other students that they are not the only ones who struggle with some of these issues.
