CRN 11289 HPC 3532-101 Exploring Majors Wednesdays 4-4:50 pm in 143 D.D. Dougherty (DL in schedule).
This course is taught by Debbie Marshall, University College Advisor. This course is for students who have not yet chosen a major. Class activities will include researching requirements of different majors, exploring and reflecting on your interests in terms of course work, analysis of personality type and major choice, and examining the relationship and distinctions between a college major and a career. This course is for a grade and one hour elective credit.

CRN 13139 U S 1531-111 Electronic Research Skills
Please note that this course is offered ONLINE so please be sure you are comfortable with the online course set-up at Appalachian before you sign up. Online courses require good time management skills and access to computers with internet connection.
This course is taught by Geri Purpur, University Library faculty member.
This course is designed for students who wish to research effectively for class assignments. Students will be introduced to all types of resources, print and electronic, presently available at the Appalachian State University Libraries, such as the catalog, subject encyclopedias, databases for finding articles in journals, magazines, and newspapers, and a librarian's guide to using internet sources.  By the end of the course students should be able to maneuver through a variety of research resources and use electronic courseware and communication technology. This course is for a grade and one hour elective credit.

This class will provide opportunities to explore and practice skills college students use to set goals, manage time, keep up with assignments, take notes effectively and study them efficiently, and fight procrastination. This course is for a grade and one hour elective credit.

Offered in cooperation between the Reading Program and the Learning Assistance Program, this class is for a grade and one hour elective credit.
