All education majors at Appalachian must take the Praxis II test during the semester they student teach, and passing this test is a requirement in order to be certified to teach.
Most students find this test covers material they are familiar with through their education classes. Careful reading of the questions, logic, and good test-taking skills are also helpful.
We have found that the practice tests that can be purchased directly from ETS are very helpful for a student to be prepared for Praxis I and Praxis II tests. We are therefore grateful to the ASU Library for purchasing and putting on reserve the following review books under Instructor name: Cama Duke or Subject: Praxis. You can check them out for 24 hours so you can see how you will do on the test before you take it. These practice tests usually give you a good idea of what to expect on the test.
